Lady Gaga y Eminem acaparan las nominaciones MTV VMA. 2010 ha sido el año de Lady Gaga, entonces no es sorpresa que reciba 13 increíbles nominaciones para los MTV VMA Awards 2010. Con esto en cuenta, Gaga hace historia en MTV, ganándose el lugar de la artista con mayor cantidad de nominaciones en solo un año. También es la primer artista femenina en ser nominada con dos videos diferentes en la misma categoría Video of the Year, en el mismo año ("Bad Romance" y "Telephone" feat. Beyoncé.)

Siguiéndole el paso a Lady Gaga está Eminem, quien recibió 8 nominaciones. Eminem también ha tenido un año estelar, su último álbum Recovery se mantuvo en el top de los charts en US desde el 21 de Junio, convirtiéndose rápidamente en uno de los mas grandes álbumes del año. "Not Afraid" el primer single de difusión, está nominado en 5 categorías incluyendo la codiciada categoría de "Video of the Year”. También fue nominado en Best Hip Hop Video.

La novedosa banda Florence + The Machine recibió una nominación por Video of the Year con el single "Dog Days Are Over" junto con otras tres nominaciones bien merecidas, incluyendo Best Rock Video.
